Outer Banks Beacon is a not-for-profit, online news publication created solely by volunteers who care deeply about halting the onslaught of ultra-conservative and alt-right politics.
Our mission is to put local Outer Banks politics in context with politics at state, national, and even international levels. Through this broad perspective, we hope to link like-minded people together and strengthen the community ties that lead to civic action.
Beacon is not an impartial voice, but it is an independent one. We are committed to drawing liberals, progressives, independents, and concerned moderates closer by presenting only fact-based news and opinions.
